Brad Macdonald is a  multifaceted artist who blends the tools of photography, poetry, and storytelling to distil the interconnectedness of the human race and delve into the very essence of existence. My work weaves together mythology, identity, and transformation themes, bridging the realms of the written word and the visual image.

Born in 1981, my journey is driven by the desire to make a difference without conforming to societal expectations. Using visual narrative and poetic expression, I delve into my existence in the vastness of time and space. While I am often labelled a photographer, my work transcends a single medium, embracing various artistic tools. Yet, through the camera, I find the most natural means of visual expression.

Each creation is a transformative journey to discover my potential and reimagine artistic conventions. My work goes beyond self-exploration, seeking to tap into the collective psyche and awaken the senses of others.

Presented in interconnected series, my photography delves into the complex nature of the human experience. “Urban Contrast” explores the dualities of cities, capturing both their beauty and darker elements. “Compatibility Mode” draws an analogy between the human body and a bustling city, exploring the ever-changing nature of both and questioning our compatibility with ourselves, others, and the world around us.

Beyond photography, I embrace digital printmaking, combining traditional methods with modern tools and by merging my own photographs with public domain works, I create new narratives through multiple exposures. This fusion of classical and digital techniques allows me to maintain a clean and seamless artistic process.
